Hi friends, if you are reading this you probably already know who I am but just incase: I’m Neville, a software engineer with five years of experience in the industry. I was previously building out AI platforms at Microsoft Health and Life Sciences but I’m in between jobs currently (new role to be announced).
Purpose
At Microsoft I acted as a leader with AI tooling, keeping my colleagues up to date on the latest and greatest, whether it be posting about a new model that just came out or discussing a new experimental tool designed to improve our workflows. Outside of work, I have a few colleagues that I chat to about different AI tooling, and so I thought it would be a good time to just bring all these groups together in one place.
What will I post about?
Any and everthing AI news. I will probably keep it similar to how I would post at my previous job in Microsoft: short but frequent messages about whatever I find that’s interesting on hacker news or any sort of new AI tool to help with your workflow. Usually this will be things like when Anthropic or OpenAI announces a new model, I’ll go and try it out a little bit comparing it to the model I am running at the time.
I’ll probably also throw in the general tech news piece here and there, it won’t be allllll AI.
Format
I will often dictate these posts and prefer just putting them out there as is so you know I didn’t just use AI to write it. With that you may see the occasional spelling error or odd word like “clawed” instead of “Claude”. I use https://github.com/cjpais/handy for TTS BTW. Works on all platforms.
